Proofing with SkyLaTeX: how does it work?
Designed to make the academic journal and book proofing process faster and more efficient, SkyLaTeX serves both experienced and new LaTeX users. SkyLaTeX allows authors to insert corrections directly into the production LaTeX file, preview the corrected PDF after compilation, and to view the editor’s queries and answer them. The workflow is as follows:
- After copyediting, typesetting and enrichments have been made, a unique link to the LaTeX production file is sent to the author.
- By clicking this link, the author is directed to SkyLaTeX homepage where the LaTeX source file of the publication is shown on the left and the corresponding PDF preview on the right. The PDF layout fully meets house style and publisher requirements.
- If authors want to correct anything, they can make changes directly into the LaTeX source file and compile it online.
- To complete the final proof, the author simply clicks on the ‘Validate and finish proofing’ button.
